After the 2013 season ended.
How many deer tails do you see here?
The date on the camera was incorrect.
It was 2014
CAN IT GET TOO COLD FOR PICTURES?
Are you kidding me? There were so many deer tracks right in front of our cameras. This is going to be great we thought. We were ready to see what bucks made it through the season. But on two different occasions and with 2 different cameras we got 0 pictures. Batteries? Yep, we thought of that and new ones were installed each time. How can this be? What's going on? Was it simply too cold for our cameras to work? It was disappointing for sure. We haven't given up. Different cameras are back out and hopefully some great pictures will be on this website soon. I am so ready for spring. Donna
YOU HAVE TO BE WONDERING HOW THE EHD / BLUE TONGUE AFFECTED US.
Frankly, it took its toll, but thank the Good Lord above, we are seeing groups of deer regularly and several
1 1/2 to 2 1/2 year old bucks that will be 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old next season. We're always very happy to see those really big bucks that survived both a terrible disease and the hunting season.
Last summer we were seeing and hearing about deer dying all over the Midwest from Indiana and Ohio to Nebraska and Kansas. Because of this news Steve told me to cut our hunter numbers in half for the 2013 season. I'm so thankful I listened to Steve this time because it was not a normal hunting season.
It wasn't all bad. Most of our hunters saw big bucks. Some hunters harvested, some missed or wounded and some never got the opportunity at the one they had watched all week. Soon the deer numbers will be making a comeback, but while they do, our hunting availability will be based on the herd and not money.
A happy hunter will return to hunt with us again and again. That's worth everything to us so grab one of the remaining spots before they're gone. For communicating I like email the best.
Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Steve and Jeff will be leaving for Harrisburg, PA this week and hope to book our remaining available hunts.
If you don't have your deposit paid, please let me know that you'll be bringing it to the show or mailing it to me soon.
Thanks everyone! D
Here's just a few pictures of our 2013 successful hunters.
2013 was a great year for Russ Nichols.
I can't tell you the number of times that he has left our camps with a solid P&Y buck going home with him.
Yep, he's a very fortunate hunter, but now 2013 means even more. He just became a new grandpa.
You are blessed beyond measure Russ.
Tom Pedley's wall of fame supplied by J&S.
Well, he helped a bit too.
I am not one to complain, but I have a valid complaint this year. Out of all the hundreds of acres and multiple stands on your property I get stuck right back in the same stand from last year where I took a 159" deer. And this year a 145" deer presented himself at this stand. I really feel like Steve could put me on a bad spot for 2 or 3 days so I can enjoy more time in the deer woods. This is 2 years in a row that I leave before monday!!
Just kidding of course!! Love your place and nice to see Jeff , Rod, and Steve again this year. I look forward to booking with you again for next year.
I do have a question.....2 of my friends would like to commit for next year. Is there room if I send there deposits soon?
p.s. attached is buck taken this year
